Responsibilities:
- Risk Management Strategy: Develop and implement the bank’s risk management strategy, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with the bank’s overall objectives and regulatory requirements. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy and make adjustments as necessary.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify, assess, and monitor risks across various areas of the bank, including credit, market, operational, liquidity, and compliance risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize potential losses and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in regulations and ensure the bank’s risk management practices are in full compliance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and provide guidance on potential impacts of new regulations on bank operations.
- Risk Culture and Awareness: Foster a strong risk culture within the organization by promoting risk awareness, ethics, and accountability. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance risk management knowledge and skills across the bank, ensuring all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in managing risks.
- Risk Governance: Establish and maintain an effective risk governance framework, including the establishment of risk committees and other necessary structures. Provide guidance and support to these committees, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in risk management within the banking sector, with a deep understanding of various types of risks and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, operations, and financial markets.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing regulatory environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
